The 1 minute bun tutorial with just a hair tie!

June 13, 2017

Hi ladies! I’m happy to share with you the 1 minute bun tutorial with just a hair tie!  I wear my hair in this messy bun maybe 4 times a week. It works for daytime and it works for a night out too. Check out the tutorial below for the easy 1 minute bun!

So first thing we are going to put our hair into a ponytail. I make mine messy, using my fingers to comb but you can make yours smoother if thats what you like!

1. Dress    2. wedges.   3. bar earrings    4. bracelet.   5. necklace.   6. curling iron

I use just a simple hair tie close to my hair color. I wrap it one extra time so its tighter. The tighter the hair tie the longer my hair seems to stay “perky!”

I start to twist my hair fairly tight all the way to the ends.

Then I start to wrap the twist to my left- mainly because I’m right handed! You can go either direction…

Then I start to wrap the twist around and in front of the hair tie to my right.

1. Dress    2. wedges.   3. bar earrings    4. bracelet.   5. necklace.   6. curling iron

I like it super messy so I pull on the twist a bit to separate the hair for a messy feel.

Showing how I pull it out even more in different areas.

Here’s a behind view of the twist and wrapping towards the left.

I then start to wrap the twist in front and again to the right. *My hair is pretty long so I have to wrap another way around. If your hair doesn’t go around another time skip the next couple steps.*

Another photo angle of the front wrap around. I am also pulling the hair out a little again for the messy look.

I start to pull the hair tie out and hold it with my left hand while holding onto my hair with my right hand. I then tuck the ends of the twist around and thru the hair tie.

Pull the hair thru.

It’s a little hard to see, but I’m still holding onto the ends of the twist with my right hand while I pull hair out again, loosening and messing the bun.

Now, I like my bun messy, so I don’t mind the ends sticking out. I you do, you can tuck them under the hair tie and hide them inside

Pull at the hair to mess it up a little more…

…And voila! The messy bun in less than a minute!!

1. Dress    2. wedges.   3. bar earrings    4. bracelet.   5. necklace.   6. curling iron
