My best friend. Plain and simple.

It’s funny to think that a 14-month-old baby could be my best friend, but Lennox is indeed my best friend. Like, how did I live 36 years without my best friend? It blows my mind.💥 This whole motherhood thing blows my mind to be honest. 🤷🏼‍♀️When I am talking to Lennox and I call myself mama, or when I’m talking to my husband and we say the word mom in reference to me, it still feels foreign. How is that possible?!! I mean, I’ve been a mom for over 14 months now, and I have to say I’m pretty proud of the job I’m doing- which I was a little self-conscious to write, but it’s coming from a pure place, not a bragging place. If you are raising nice and happy children, I think you should be very proud of yourself. Look, Lennox is a super happy kid and he sleeping so I figure, hey, I’m doing something right. I hope you pat yourself on the back as well, because you’re doing a hell of a good job. I’m not sure if you spent a lot of time with babies before you had your own, but I wasn’t around babies much before I had Lennox, and knew next to nothing about raising a child. A mother’s instinct is a pretty damn cool concept. Somehow we just know what to do. Somehow we trust ourselves to guide and raise these little humans to the best of our ability, and that’s pretty marvelous, pretty damn marvelous.
