Lately it seems that every day Lennox grows a little bit taller, he adds another word to his vocabulary and he’s suddenly becoming incredibly independent. As his mommy I want to provide him with the healthiest foods, along with the best opportunities and products possible to help him continue to thrive. I am going to take a moment here to gush about Munchkin and their products for a moment! They’ve been able to guide and support me thru many of these transitions and I’m very happy to share their tips with you. I’m also adding Lennox’s favorite products and toys because why not share when you find something great?! I hope they will help make the milestones with your littles easier for you, too!
Parenthood is funny, isn’t it?! For me it can be so confusing and two-sided! Bear with me as I try to explain… I got home from a long day of work today, Len was happy as a clam with the babysitter (fantastic) but when he looked up at me he said, “no mommy, no.” So what he was saying was mommy don’t come home yet, I’m having fun with my “friend”. It was like a knife in the heart. I mean, his babysitter is the cutest girl and I have a feeling it’s his first crush, but I’m not ready to be chopped liver yet! I kind of miss the clingy, mommy-wanting boy who cried every time I left the room! (Insert confusing part) and clinginess hasn’t happened in a while.😏 Needless to say, I’m struggling with this transition. Honestly, I think I’ve struggled with every transition. Have you?
Most recently we moved Lennox out of the highchair and into Munchkin’s elevate booster seat at the table. Now, as much as I love Lennox sitting on big boy chair, it breaks my heart just a little bit. I’m not snapping the high chair tray in (assuring security), washing the messy tray (did it ever really get clean?) and trying to get a bib on the little rascal?!! Let me tell you, it’s worth staining or ruining the outfit just to avoid the meltdown. M. E. L. T. D. O. W. N. Yikes!
I’m grateful for his weighted straw cup– this cup is genius because when he throws a fit and tosses it on the ground, it doesn’t leak. And when he’s being sweet and drinking his milky 😊 the weight of the straw helps him get every last drop! And how many if you have tried the stainless steel snack catcher from Munchkin? We’ve tried so many snack cups and Len finds this one to be the easiest because the silicone flaps are super soft and easy to get snacks out, and mommy loves them because they prevent food spills in the house and car! I want to share one more thing that makes meals run smoother. Well, except last night when Len screamed the whole time that he wanted Cheerios and, “no chicken!!” I digress. 🙈 The splash plate (this is designed to have deep walls that makes scooping easier and messes off your table) has helped to make this picky eater a much better one… Remember the mashed avocado and rice cereal days when the babes would pretty much eat what you spooned into their mouths? Umm, ya. Sayonara! Well this plate is bigger than others we were using so it helps keep foods from touching- unless it’s a waffle only breakfast!🙈 Toddlers!!! Ha!
Another big leap for Lennox or maybe just me, is he would rather be in the bathtub Playing independently with his toys and bubbles than splashing around with mommy. I mean, a penguin bubble blower tops mommy singing “Splish splash I was taking a bath,” any day. Sigh. 😏 I realize we are close to eliminating bath time together (me in the tub vs. washing him from outside the tub) and it makes me sad… So for now, I will jump in the tub and play with his favorite farm animal squirts – Len loves the piggy! I will enjoy bubbles and I will let Lennox try his best to gather his bath toys and put them into the super bath scoop aka my buddy! 👍🏻 Our bath time ritual has been so fun and special for me. I know Len loves it too, even if he wants the tub to himself! 🙄
