Disneyland … Oh where do I begin?

My mom loves to tell the story of how she and my dad brought me and my brother to Disneyland when I was 9 months old, and Adam was almost 2 years old. Apparently I loved it even back then! Wide eyed and in awe, they said I stayed up until midnight.

When I look at Sleeping Beauty’s castle I feel like I’m ten again… I’m not sure why? Maybe it has to do with secretly wanting to be a princess?? Ha! I don’t know!

And that’s how the tradition began… In our family, and for anyone who goes to Disneyland with me today, Pirates of the Caribbean is the first stop! That’s the rule. After that, all rides are fair game… That being said, my favorite is probably Space Mountain. I’m not a huge roller coaster junkie, but this one is just the right speed and excitement for me! Plus I love being in the dark and whipped all around!

One of the main reasons I love Disneyland is the feeling I get just walking around. There is so much to look at. Everything smells amazing! It makes me HAPPY! Duh. It’s the Happiest Place on Earth! Popcorn, candy apples, ice cream and oh ya, corn dogs! That’s how I get my husband to go with me so often. A corn dog bribe 🙂 I think he’s catching on…

Kacy actually proposed to me by the castle almost 4 years ago. It was one of the best days of my life! My husband knows me so well. It was absolutely perfect!

This last trip was so much fun! My mom, her boyfriend Marty, my friend Sujata and I fought the crowds and lines with big smiles on our faces! Who cares how long the line is when you have great conversation and friends. Well, sometimes the lines plain suck! I’ll give ya that.. But regardless, we were at Disneyland! And to me, that’s all that mattered 🙂 Right now there’s the holiday feeling all over the park. It was the first time this fall that is ACTUALLY felt like fall!

We ended our night watching the beautiful Disneyland fireworks. The BEST firework show I’ve ever seen, and it lasts forever!! We then ventured to Downtown Disney for dinner and a chance to relax our tired feet!

I found this photo and had to share it… Look at the cars! The sign! It’s just fascinating to me that an empire like Disneyland has been around for 57 years! The park opened on July 17, 1955 spanning 160 acres. Today, Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, hosting approximately 600 million guests since its opening. Amazing!

Thank you Disneyland, for creating some of the fondest memories I have…
