With just one week before preschool starts, I’m really trying to soak up every single second with this little guy. We went on a hike today and had a ton of fun, but pretty much anything makes Lennox happy. He loves doing puzzles, coloring, watching Sesame Street, of course, or simply tossing a balloon into the air! We’ve gotten in hours of play time doing this, LOL!
It’s so interesting to take a step back and really think about everything Lennox has taught me. For the past two years I’ve been able to watch this purely happy little boy completely enjoy his life. Of course he has tantrums and throws himself on the floor screaming, but for the most part, Lennox simply enjoys life. I am enjoying my life in a different way. Watching him have fun makes me happy. Watching him learn something new EVERY day brings me joy. Having actual conversations with this tiny human is absolutely amazing. But I have to admit, I’ve lost that childlike curiosity and innocence for life. Of course it changes as we grow and get older, but my goodness, what I would give to look at the world with that kind of pure joy. So from here on out I’m really going to try and focus on that point of view- The best that I can! Maybe it’s something as simple as truly enjoying and tasting the amazing ice cream that I’m indulging in instead of worrying about all the calories!🙈
So that is what I’ve been thinking about today… It’s all about the little things, and Lennox is the perfect mirror for me to re-learn what life is all about. Our children are our teachers! Who else feels this way?!
