Memoirs of a mama on a plane with a one year old… πŸ˜³πŸ‘ΆπŸΌπŸ˜©πŸ€’πŸ˜€πŸ™ŒπŸ»

May 9, 2017

So, the plane ride back from Arizona was pretty comical. Thank goodness the woman sitting next to me had a good attitude and was fine with flying cheerios and water spraying everywhere. It was pretty funny actually, the pressure on the plane caused Lennox’s water bottle/sippy cup to squirt everywhere when I opened the lid. Oops.πŸ™ˆThank goodness there was no one sitting in front of us because the chair got soaked.😬 So after the water debacle, Lennox decides that he doesn’t want any of the dinner that I packed for him, and chicken, cheese, broccoli and mango were flying everywhere as well. I ended up giving in and letting him stand in front of me and play with the flotation device brochure. I’m sure those pockets are disgustingly dirty and I would prefer that my son doesn’t touch them, but what do you do when you’re 30+ thousand feet in the air and your son will not sit still and he’s on the brink of having a breakdown. Well, I let him play with the plane seat pocket and I even let him sit on the floor.πŸ™ƒI gave him Cheerios and cheese crackers and pretty much tried to keep him calm for the hour and a half we were in the air. I was so paranoid of ruining people flight!! Looking back, I guess it wasn’t so bad, but if it had not been for the amazing woman to my left I don’t know what I would have done. The woman to my right, not so much. She was getting slightly annoyed but hey, I guess that if I was still in my 20s with no kids, I would get annoyed as well. Anyway, I’m glad to be home and not dealing with a joyous plane ride at the moment. That is, until the end of the month when I get to do it all over again with an almost 15-month-old. Oh boy, wish me luck!πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€žπŸ»

Any and all traveling tips are welcome here. Please use this blog as an opportunity to share and learn from each other.

Hope you had a great day!

Lennox is happy because he is eating Cheerios. Thank you to whoever invented Cheerios. All of us moms owe you big timeπŸ™πŸ» …But, then we ran out of Cheerios.πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ—£

The world is over and the drama ensues.😳 This little boy named Lennox turns into a wiggly and frustrated creature. Sitting, standing, wiggling out of mamas arms. Will he scream, will he pass out??? Smiling one minute, frustrated the next.

Things start to escalate. This 14 month old creature slowly gets to the point where he is about to blow.

Oh, ya know, some deluxe wine and cheese for mama as Lennox throws a tantrum on the floor πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜³πŸ€£πŸ·πŸ§€Β I know you’ve been there before… Snack of champions!

Some water and cheese crackers pacify the little monster for about 5 minutes. Mama chugs here wineπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ·

Oh no… Screaming and tantrums and tears oh my!

Suddenly, the captain begins to speak and announces that we will be landing in 20 minutes. The magical princess sitting next to us makes Lennox laugh and forget about the woes and drama of being 14 months old. Things start to look brighter again and this runny nosed, screaming and thrashing tiny creature starts to become human again. The blue eyed, happy-go-lucky, laughing and talkative tiny human smiles. Touchdown. We are on the ground and all is right in the world.

….And then the beautiful baby boy gives his mama a hug.

The End… πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ΌπŸΌπŸ™‹πŸΌ

Thank you God, for getting getting us home safely. What a journey. πŸ˜‡πŸ˜“
