I was recently introduced to an amazing organization called NoKidHungry. While attending a lovely luncheon with some amazing ladies, I learned so many interesting facts regarding the how many children actually go to school without breakfast. I have been inspired to educate myself on this issue and become more involved with No Kid Hungry. An organization that wants to help end childhood hunger is one I want to be involved with… Their Mission statement reads:
Mission Statement
NO CHILD SHOULD GROW UP HUNGRY IN AMERICA. But 1 in 5 children struggles with hunger. Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign is ending childhood hunger in America by connecting kids in need with nutritious food and teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. You can help surround kids with healthy food where they live, learn and play.
I am extremely excited to get more involved with NoKidHungry, along with their sister organization called CookingMatters. For 20 years, Cooking Matters has empowered families with the skills to stretch their food budgets and cook healthy meals, so their children get nutritious food at home. They encourage families to shop smarter, use nutrition information to make healthier choices and cook delicious, affordable meals.
