How many of you struggle to keep the little ones busy on rainy days? Living in Southern California, we don’t have that problem too often, so I find myself trying to come up with random things to do with Lennox during these rainy days. We usually go outside for a walk or I take him on a run in the jogging stroller, and if I’m feeling super energized I will even attempt to take him on a hike in the baby carrier💪🏻 But on rainy, cold days where we have to stay inside, I feel like I want to make an extra effort to be creative and have Lennox explore new things. Now how do you do that inside?! Sure, we read books and we play with blocks, all kinds of sensory toys, and he’s exploring his new little kitchen, but I want to be more creative than that. We’ve been rearranging the house because let’s be honest, we don’t have that much room anymore with all the baby gear. So I’d love to hear tips on creative rainy day ideas? How the heck do you organize your house with all this baby stuff? Basically, any awesome parent tips are welcome! Now its time to cuddle and be cozy!
Stay warm! Xoxo

What I have done with kids when babysitting and in the daycare that I work at… maybe let them get dirty inside? Kid safe paint… strip him down to his diaper and let him finger paint. I have found different ones online of google image for handprint and footprint ones. Themed them with the season or holiday that is happening. Done them on canvas so they can be hung. I haven bought supplies from Dollarama here in Canada.
Or bring out a new toy that you bought for him to discover later. A new book.
Create sensory bags. Fill ziploc bags with different items. Beans. Sand. Gel water beads.

I have recently come across making hand puppets out of old socks. My 16 month old loves them! The dog also loves them too, which is why I think my daughter loves them so much. I also have some random children’s instruments around the house, maracas and some little tike instruments. We walk through the house and make lots of noise, its fun and it entertains her for a little bit. I tried paint, but unfortunately my daughter does not want anything to do with it (right now.)
