Step Up Women’s Network

I have been involved with a program called Step Up Women’s Network for over five years now. Not only does this program provide mentorship to young girls, they also provide an opportunity for our youth to have an amazing future! I am continually inspired by these young women and their stories. Its amazing to see where they are headed. They are not defined by where they come from. No, they move past their stories and are driven and ambitious young women. I think we can all learn something from today’s youth. They deserve opportunities and resources that will help them grow and succeed and that is exactly what Step Up Women’s Network is all about…

Their Mission statement reads:

Step Up propels girls from under-resourced communities to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women.

I wish I had someone mentoring me when I was younger. I always knew what I wanted to do with my life, but I never knew how to get there. It’s been by perseverance and passion and faith that I am where I am today. I was reminded yesterday by women much younger than I am to push forward and to keep moving ahead. So I will continue on my journey and have faith in the path that has been laid out before me.
