‘8 Simple Rules’ actress Amy Davidson recently sat down with us to chat about a few things she loves; friends, family, acting and Stella & Dot! We also caught up with Amy to find out which gifts she’s coveting this season for everyone on her list.
Tell us a little bit about your background and how you got started as an actress? As the daughter of two educators from Arizona, no one had a clue how to get me into this business, but I knew at five years old watching ‘Kids Incorporated’ that I wanted to be an actress. It wasn’t until high school that I actually starting taking acting classes and made the shift from dancer to actress. I had been dancing since I was three and loved the stage

After high school, I moved to LA and booked my first audition, a commercial for a clothing line, and so my journey began. Now, it’s all about staying creative, working my tail off and focusing on projects that I care about.
Describe your personal style. My style changes with how I’m feeling on any particular day. I love many styles from bohemian chic to preppy, and a little bit rocker. What’s most important to me is that I feel comfortable and confident.

Three staples from your wardrobe—ready, go! Only three wardrobe staples?! I would have to choose my black Louboutin heels (they go with everything), a pair of dark denim skinny jeans (Radcliff or J Brand) and a white Vince t-shirt.
What’s your accessories style for the holidays? I am really into gold lately and I usually like dainty jewelry, but for the holidays, I want to go bold and wear pieces that make a statement.
Which Stella & Dot pieces are you coveting right now? I wear my Rebel Pendant Necklace several days a week, it looks great with everything! I’m also loving the Ever After Necklace (sometimes with the Rebel). And my favorite bracelet at the moment is the gold Renegade Cluster. They are staples!

Which Stella & Dot pieces are on your holiday gift list?
Family: For my mom, I would get the Chantilly Lace Cuff. It’s so beautiful. I can see her loving it! My cousin Abbi loves my silver Ever After Necklace so that would definitely be my choice for her!
Friends: My girlfriend Jamie just got engaged, so I think the Together Forever Necklace is perfect for her! The meaning behind this is so timely. My friend Jodi would love the Watch Over You Necklace. I love the meaning behind it. For her daughter Juliet, I would get the Kristin Pearl Bracelet. She loves pink! This would look so sweet on her tiny wrist!

This staple piece should be in every woman’s wardrobe. Rebecca Romijn wore the Tiffany’s version in InStyle magazine and Diane Lane wore a look-alike throughout the movie Nights in Rodanthe. So why does every gal clamor for this simple necklace? Because it’s gold (it adds a glowy warmth to any skin tone) and it looks luxurious without being big or chunky. The Elsa Peretti Diamonds by the Yard Necklace (right) from Tiffany & Co. is $9,500. The Nadri Long Strand All Around Necklace from Nordstrom (center) is a little more in our price range for $178. But why not save $50 and get twice the necklace? Check out Stella & Dot’s Eternity CZ Necklace in 14kt gold vermeil for $128 (left). At 60″ long, this necklace can be tripled around your neck for a look that’s extra luxe and extra affordable.

Who is the Tailored Eclectic Dresser? Tailored eclectic is for the woman who loves to dress up, appreciates the fit that comes with an expensive designer piece, and loves classic pieces but also has no fear of injecting a bold color or a truly “interesting” piece into her wardrobe. She has a lifestyle where dressing to the nines is necessary, whether its for flying through the corporate ranks or working with high-end clients.
